Paint

For exterior walls, choose a quality weatherguard paint from a trusted brand; it resists Kenya's sun and rain far longer than budget alternatives. Inside, washable emulsions keep walls looking fresh in busy family homes.

Tiles & floors

Porcelain tiles are harder-wearing than ceramic for high-traffic areas. For bedrooms, consider warmer finishes. Always budget a little extra for breakages and a matching reserve box for future repairs.

Fittings & joinery

Doors, windows, and cabinetry are where quality really shows. Powder-coated aluminium windows and solid joinery cost more upfront but save on maintenance for years.
